Betty stars in a play where many people show up to watch. A handsome man tells her their love is forever, as the villain flies overhead in a balloon. He lands and competes for her attention, tying her love to a tree and kissing her hand while she isn't looking. He tries to woo her with material things, but she doesn't give in to his pursuits.
