I attended my first birth in the mountains of Santa Cruz when I was 18years old. I was immediately hooked....I found work as a labor and postpartum doula and attended every homebirth that I could. By the time it was my turn to give birth, I had attended quite a few births and had delivered 3 babies, including one in a Dead show parking lot. I knew that I would someday be a midwife, but the first task at hand was to raise the baby in my own arms.
