Fleischer Studios is Founded

May 1929 - Fleischer Studios, the company responsible for bringing us Betty Boop, Popeye, Superman, and numerous other cartoons, is founded by brothers Max and Dave Fleischer in May 1929.

The First Looney Tunes Test Cartoon is Produced

May 1929 - Bosko the Talk-Ink Kid is produced by Harman and Ising as a test cartoon to be shown to potential employers. It isn't officially released until 2000 in a Cartoon Network Movie Special called Toonheads: The Lost Cartoons.
