My Identify Is Bill: Bill Wilson--His Life and the Development of Alcoholics Anonymous, my biography of Bill Wilson, was published in 2004. The paperback was published in August 2005.

Because 1980, I have also published five novels, a biographical examine, and 4 memoirs.

I have created for several publications like The New Yorker and The New York Occasions. I've taught at Yale University and at The New College, and am on the faculty of the Bennington School MFA System. I have been nominated for the National E-book Critics Circle Award and won a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Winship Medal, and an Associated Press Award. I am a director of the Yaddo Corporation and a member of the Authors Guild Council.

My most current memoir is As Good As I Could Be: A Memoir of Raising Great Children in Tough Occasions.

"I really don't experience that I pick memoir,” I the moment told an interviewer. “It chooses me.”

Want: In which Intercourse Meets Addiction, was printed in October, 2008. The New York Post called it a "quick, steamy read" and branded me as "wry", the New York Instances highlighted it in the House part and it got effectively reviewed in the New York Occasions Guide Evaluation.
