You can learn futures trading just like you can learn to invest in any security. Understanding how to trade futures is important on the first trading day of the new contract trading, because there will be no real agreement before the market opens. The future market for trading contracts may not be the same way as other stocks, but are "created" only when the open interest has grown, that is, when a party who is to buy, goes long, will make a contract with another party, who is going short by selling. When open interest is reduced, because merchants sell long positions, or to scale back the rebuy of their short positions, the contract will be annihilated. Understanding how to trade futures is something to bear in mind because lots of the contracts pass thru a few different hands after creation, settling parties don't know who they have just traded with.
the futures trading secrets course
